What You Need To Make Chocolate Donut Holes
- Milk: Since this recipe is vegan, you can use any non-dairy milk such as unsweetened almond milk or oat milk in this chocolate donut holes recipe. If you are not dairy-free, feel free to use regular milk.
- Butter: This chocolate donut holes recipe is vegan, so we use vegan butter instead of regular butter. If you are not vegan or dairy-free, feel free to use regular butter.
- Sugar: I recommend using organic cane sugar or regular white sugar in this recipe.
- Baking Soda and Baking Powder: Instead of using eggs, we use baking powder and soda to give our chocolate donut holes a nice fluffy texture.
- Vanilla Extract: Enhances the chocolatey flavor.
- Cocoa Powder: Cocoa powder is where we get that delicious rich chocolate flavor in these copy-cat chocolate munchkins.
- Flour: I recommend using regular or gluten-free all purpose flour in this recipe.
- Powdered Sugar: We toss the baked chocolate munchkins in powdered sugar to give them a delicious sweet flavor.
How To Make Chocolate Donut Holes
Step 1: Preheat the oven and prepare about 60 silicone donut holes or 14-16 full-sized silicone donut molds by spraying them with non-stick spray.
Step 2: Mix the almond or oat milk, melted vegan butter, sugar, baking powder and baking soda, vanilla, and cocoa powder together until smooth. Then, add the flour and mix until a thick batter is formed. Be careful not to over-mix or the donuts will become dense.
Step 3: Spoon the chocolate donut batter into the silicone donut molds and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until they have completely risen. Allow the chocolate donut holes to cool and then toss them in the powdered sugar. Enjoy warm or cool.

Jillian Glenn says
Mini cupcake tin should work great!

Can I substitute the vegan butter with oil?
Jillian Glenn says
Absolutely!
Maggie says
Can I fry these?
Jillian says
Hi Maggie! If you're going to attempt to fry these, you will need to bake them first. The batter is too loose to drop into a fryer and will fall apart unless the donut holes are baked already.
Elizabeth says
These look amazing. If I put them in a regular donut pan how long should I bake them?
Jillian says
