Best Vegan Chicken Nachos Ingredients
- Olive Oil: Extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil is used when preparing the vegan chicken in the skillet.
- Vegan Chicken: We used the Original Vegan Chicken Strips from Daring. They're sold at Target, Walmart, and most other grocery stores in the frozen foods section. If you don't have them near you, any other prepared plant-based frozen meat will work. And, as always, if you are not vegan or vegetarian, feel free to use regular shredded or grilled chicken in these nachos.
- Vegan Cheese: We used the shredded Colby cheese from Violife but feel free to use your favorite vegan cheese. Of course, if you are not vegan or dairy-free, regular shredded Mexican cheese will work.
- Toppings: Red Onion, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Avocados, Corn, Black Beans
- Tortilla Chips: We used corn tortilla chips as our base for these delicious vegan nachos. If you are sensitive to gluten, be sure to grab gluten-free chips.
How To Make Vegan Chicken Nachos
Step 1: Prepare your Daring Chicken (as instructed) in a skillet with olive oil and fry until golden brown. Before removing the chicken from the skillet, top it with the vegan cheese shreds and drizzle a little olive oil on top. This helps the vegan cheese melt. Cover the skillet with a lid for 1-2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and then remove the entire skillet from the heat.
Step 2: Plate your chips, top with black beans, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and then add the cheesy chicken on top. Serve with avocado, guacamole, or salsa. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy warm.
